FAQ's

Every decision in a Kevin James Guitar has a reason behind it. The neck is a carefully laminated hard maple structure with vertical grain for stability. The headstock is engineered for straight string pull and reinforced with a structural cap for rigidity. The body shape is completely original. Fretboard materials are chosen with both tone and sustainability in mind. These aren't just guitars. They're engineered instruments built one at a time by one person who designed every part of them.

Kevin James Guitars are built for players who play with emotional intent. Players who use dynamics as expression, who want notes that hang and bloom, who can hold a room of ten people or twenty thousand with the same conviction. If you play with feeling and you want an instrument that gets out of your way and lets you say what you came to say — this is your guitar.

At this time, we only ship within the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia. We're focused on making sure every Kevin James Guitar reaches its new home safely and reliably. We hope to explore international shipping in the future!

Every guitar takes time to do right. Build times can vary depending on my current workload and the level of customization, but each instrument moves through the same careful process of machining, shaping, and hand-finishing. If you’re considering a build, reach out and I’ll give you the most accurate timeline based on what’s on the bench.

There's room to personalize within the Atomicato platform. Finish color, binding or roundover on the body edge, pickup configuration, and hardware are all areas where we can talk. What stays fixed is the body shape, scale length, and neck profile — those are the bones of the instrument and changing them would make it something other than an Atomicato. If you have something specific in mind, reach out and we'll figure out what's possible.

Every guitar is fully dialed in before it leaves the shop. Action, intonation, fretwork, nut work, and electronics are all checked and refined so the guitar is ready to play the moment it arrives. Guitars ship with strings detuned to reduce tension during transit — just bring it up to pitch, give it a few minutes to settle, and you're ready to go.

Yes. Each guitar ships in a high-quality gig bag or case chosen to protect it during shipping and long-term travel. Details for each model are listed on the product page.

Each guitar is built by hand, and because of that, returns are limited. But I stand behind everything I make. If there’s ever a problem with the craftsmanship or components, I’ll work with you to make it right. Full details can be found on the Shipping & Returns page.

Yes. When I have the bandwidth, I release limited batches of pickups in the shop. Availability varies depending on the production schedule.
